On reflection, 2019 has certainly been an action-packed year for us! We’ve worked hard and are proud to celebrate what we’ve achieved so far. When we do down tools, our team certainly makes the most of its free time, so here is a round-up of what we’ve been up to behind the scenes!
Nigel and Caroline, well and truly bitten by the travel bug, decided to carry on their adventures and see even more of the world. They’ve visited Vietnam, Cambodia, France, Cadiz, Seville and Vienna – just to name a few! Starting 2020 as they mean to go on, the Rowlsons are leaving the cold English weather behind in January to spend 2 weeks in Thailand to soak up everything that the country has to offer – sounds heavenly.
Wedding bells rang for our Senior Designer Chris, who got married in July and enjoyed a fabulous honeymoon in the sun. With his feet firmly back on the ground after a magical wedding, he has been enjoying married life with the lovely Mrs Skeggs and still managed to enjoy some weekends away with the boys!
Mitch ticked off something at the top of his bucket list when he visited Japan in June. Fully immersed in the culture and lifestyle, he travelled from Tokyo to Kyoto and soaked up all that Japan had to offer. Amongst other things, he visited Shinjuku and the Akihabara areas of Tokyo, the Studio Ghibli museum in Mitaka, temples at Fushimi Inari and even explored the Gion district of Kyoto.
One of our most travelled members of the team, Matt has been making us all rather jealous with his backpacking adventures across the globe. Visiting the Philippines, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Ireland, Italy, Tenerife and Hungary! For 2020, he’s already booked a casual skiing trip as well as flights to the incredible island of Cuba. All of this often makes us wonder if there is anywhere left that Matt hasn’t visited?
After a busy start to the year and several new-business wins, we decided to expand and strengthen our team. Laura joined the team in June and since has been supporting the team with new client wins and new business. Since then, she has celebrated her 30th birthday (the Prosecco did flow), her first wedding anniversary and is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Baby Disney, due June 2020.
In September, Claudia was promoted to Digital Marketing Executive and she didn’t stop there. 2019 saw Claudia’s studying success go from strength to strength – not only achieving a distinction with her Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship but then joining the NTU Army to begin her BA (Hons) Digital Marketing Integrated Degree – watch this space! It isn’t all work and no play for our Clauds, she still has time to keep her title as the office party animal with plenty of visits to Nottingham’s pubs and clubs, the finest of gigs and the occasional shopping spree – ASOS style.
After a fairytale New York proposal last December, Tom and his fiance have been planning their dream wedding. In between cake tasting and church visits, Tom has also continued his support for the Magpies, regularly attending matches despite a rough year for the black and white side of the Trent. Just when you thought he couldn’t possibly fit anything else into his action-packed weekends, he’s also motoring on with his level 6 CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) Diploma, as well as joining the Board of Trustees at Notts County Football in the Community and continuing his Alumni Fellowship Programme commitments at Nottingham Trent University.
Finally, this December the team has faced its fears to raise money and awareness for mental health charity, Mind. Each team member has taken part in a challenge to push them out of their comfort zone, with each task designed to test them both mentally and physically. Each challenge was filmed and shared across social media and can still be viewed on our YouTube channel. There’s still time to donate to this life-changing cause, please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/dairydares to make a donation – no amount is too small.
It has certainly been an action-packed year here at The Dairy. We’ve worked on some fantastic projects with our valued clients and we look forward to working with all of you in 2020! We’re off to put our feet up and get started on the Christmas turkey, pigs in blankets and a few generous helpings of beer.
