Visual Communication Case Study

Bilborough Sixth Form College caters for students aged 16 to 19 years old, wanting to study A-levels and BTECs in an academic, supportive and sociable environment.


We began working with Bilborough Sixth Form College in October 2015. The college was looking for ‘fresh ideas’ for its marketing and communications material, with the ultimate aim of helping improve its OFSTED rating and increase recruitment numbers. 

From the start, we identified that Bilborough’s current materials just didn’t reflect the outstanding quality and vibrancy of the college, its facilities and teaching. It was time to get to work. 


Throughout the year we designed and created a consistent, colourful house-style that was rolled out to all materials – from print ads to open day banners, pop up stands to information leaflets for parents – creating a strong, recognisable brand that would attract young people and highlight the appeal of this fantastic place of study. 

We also gave advice and guidance on marketing strategy and planning – introducing tactics that would get Bilborough Sixth Form College noticed and talked about for all the right reasons.


The year culminated in us creating a short, highly-stylised video, edited from existing footage which was then played at Nottingham’s Splendour Festival during the summer – a first for Bilborough Sixth Form College and something that they now proudly display on their website home page. Having recently achieved that all-important ‘Good’ OFSTED rating, Bilborough Sixth Form College is a highly-valued client and one that really gets our creative juices flowing!
